Objectives/Work Plan
In 2008, the focus of RAB’s work is to deliver advice to the Secretary of State, BERR, on delivery of the UK’s share of the EU target for 20% renewable energy by 2020. In order to provide comprehensive, but targeted advice, RAB has established eight workstreams to supervise the delivery of defined tasks.

Governance (regulatory requirements) of Grid for 2020 |
| Activity: |
RAB to review regulatory requirements on the delivery of renewable generation in the UK currently and to 2020 and provide recommendations to the SoS, taking into account ongoing Ofgem review of grid governance. |

| Task 15 |
Impact of Delivering Priority Access to the Grid for Renewables |
| Activity: |
This activity will follow receipt from BERR of their understanding / legal interpretation and review of what is meant by ‘Priority Access’. BERR will then consult RAB. RAB task leader to pull together response for wider RAB comment. |

Strategic Planning of the Grid to 2020 |
| Activity: |
1) Peer Review of relevant ENSG-TWG Strategic Planning Work
Peer review relevant TWG work.
2) Implications of RES for grid infrastructure and operation.
Review key BERR outputs including analysis in support of RES and Round 3 offshore SEA.
3) Response to Interim TAR report
Prepare a response to Interim TAR report. |

Response to NG Proposals on SQSS |
| Activity: |
Prepare a response, with supporting evidence, to NG proposals on SQSS. Aim to present DG CoE / developers viewpoint to NG. |
